Overview

As HeartBeet Organic Superfoods Cafe) grows, we are always looking for friendly, hard-working, service-oriented, experienced food service workers to join the team.  We generally have part-time and full-time positions available working in our Roosevelt cafe, and sometimes in our production kitchen in SoDo, and you might just be a perfect fit.  You'll know it if: you LOVE health food, love working in a fast-paced environment, don't mind if it can get chaotic at times, love being of service to customers and your co-workers, and are flexible to change. 

We love our customers and we want to make sure they love their experience with HeartBeet. You'll look forward to every guest, because it's an opportunity to help another person gain control of their health, become their own superhero, and inspire others.

That's a super-brief intro, and there's a lot more to it. But first, you need to know if you'll even like working with us. 

A Bit About Us

We make some of the truly healthiest food around town, and for over 8 years, people have been coming to HeartBeet and then telling their friends what a difference we have made in their lives. (Google us, read some of our YELP reviews, and you'll see what we mean.) We love building something that has a huge positive impact on people's lives, and believe what Hippocrates said when he said "let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food."

We have a few simple but major overarching requirements when it comes to joining our team: you love to be of service, you have that inner-fire and sense of urgency, you have to truly believe in our products (see our website to see what our food is all about.)

You're the Cafe Team Member we are looking for if:

• You have cafe or restaurant experience.
• You can work at least 3-5 days a week.
• You are FAST and have an inner-sense of urgency.
• You are able to commit to having one on-call shift a week, where you may be called in for service, or may not be.
• Are able and willing to work weekends.
• Able to work long shifts, 11AM-8PM.
• You can work standing for at least 8 hours at a time (with breaks, of course)
• You value excellence and continuous improvement.
• You understand how every interaction is an expression of HeartBeet's culture and brand.
• You love making people happy.
• You are wildly productive and are a team-player at heart.
• $11-$12 per hour plus $3-$4 per hour in tips works for you

You're the Shift Lead we are looking for if:

• You are looking for full-time work and have a flexible schedule.
• You're a great leader of people.
• You're not shy to give feedback and place high demands on the team.
• You have experience leading a team of people, especially in a retail environment.
• Your co-workers thank you when you have to correct certain behaviors or make performance suggestions.
• Other people consider you a stellar communicator.
• You're always on time.
• $13-$14 per hour plus $3-$4 per hour in tips works for you

You're the Head Dessert Chef we are looking for, if:

• You have experience 3+ years of dessert-making experience and/or baked goods in a commercial environment
• You have experience with piping and decoration
• You are available full-time
• You like to work independently
• You are extremely organized
• You can lift at least 25 pounds
• You can work standing for at least 8 hours at a time (with breaks)
• You can easily travel to the Industrial District
• Ideally you have a car, and can make pie deliveries as needed (not required, but very desired)

You're the Prep Ninja we are looking for, if:

• You have experience 3+ years of food prep experience
• You are available full-time
• You like to work independently
• You are extremely organized
• You can lift at least 25 pounds
• You can work standing for at least 8 hours at a time (with breaks)
• You can easily travel to the Industrial District
• Ideally you have a car, and can make deliveries to the cafe daily

You're the Kitchen Assistant we are looking for, if:

• You have experience 3+ years of food prep experience and some commercial dessert experience
• You are available full-time
• You like to work independently
• You are extremely organized
• You can lift at least 25 pounds
• You can work standing for at least 8 hours at a time (with breaks)
• You can easily travel to the Industrial District
• Ideally you have a car, and can make deliveries to the cafe daily
